Happy Due-day Tommy

It is hard to believe that we've just now reached Tommy's scheduled due date. We can't imagine the house without him. The boys are having lots of fun times together. Tommy still sleeps alot but is definitely staying awake for longer stretches of time, and he's been eating (and growing, and farting) lots! As of 11/9, he was 7 lbs 3 oz and 20" long. Here are two weeks worth of photos.

Pap-Pap & Tommy

Tommy has been wide awake and looking around. In fact when we were taking pictures of Pappap Scott it wasn't Tommy who was having problems keeping his eyes open.

A Beautiful Nose

Tommy had the CPAP apparatus removed this afternoon and we found a nose beneath it. Isn't it beautiful?

Congratulations Maureen and Enrico!

We wish we were there to celebrate this day with you. We will toast your nuptials with a bottle of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano I picked up this afternoon for the occasion-- although I might be the only one to imbibe. We are all thinking about you both. Congratulations.

Woody Names

My coworkers championed Jack and my cause (much to the frustration of Madden) and compiled the following list of names that lend themselves to the nickname Woody. Special thanks to Dee and Ron.

Middle Name?

We are welcoming suggestions for middle names. Jack is partial to Thomas Woodrow Manion. I like it too; however, Mom is exercising her veto power on that one. Other thoughts include:

Kenneth
Hayes (a more acceptable name that lends ends itself to the nickmane Woody)
Patrick

Post your comments.

To Everyone's Suprise

One moment Jack and I are heading to the airport to start the first leg of our trip to Italy, the next moment we are at the hospital and Baby Thomas Manion (middle name to be decided later) is trying to catch the flight as well.

He was not about to sit idly by and miss a good party-- we told him that his Aunt Maureen and soon-to-be Uncle Enrico throw a great one. Have glass of juice and wine for Jack and I, respectively. We wish we were there.

The facts:
  • Born 10/8/2007
  • Weight 5 lb. 3 oz.
  • Length 18"
Tommy's arrival was considerably earlier than we expected. He is healthy and stable but is having oxygen delivered by continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). CPAC is being administered by the apparatus attached to his nose. This will be required for a couple of days and is not nearly as scary as it appears.

Madden is recovering and comfortable.
